FORMING OF SPEAKING COMPETENCE OF FUTURE ENGINEERS: ANALYSIS OF THEIR PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATIVE NEEDS

Abstract

The article deals with the question of teaching French professionally oriented monologue speech to technical specialities students.The authors analyse industrial functions, different activities, communicative professional needs, the typical professional skills and communicative intentions of technical specialists and their possible communicative situations as determinants of rational selection of educational material including linguistic: phonetic, lexical, grammatical, speech and extralinguistic material important for successful learning. It has been proved that these peculiarities resulting from different factors have the influence on effectiveness of teaching French professionally oriented speech to technical specialties students. Professional oriented discourse peculiarities of scientific-technical style and their influence on linguistic materials selection were analysed. The article offers information on the questions about methodical characteristic of exercises complex and presents some elaborated exercises for forming professionally-oriented French oral communicative competence where all the aforementioned peculiarities resulting from different factors have been reflected. So, forming future engineers’ French speaking competence is very important for the realisation of their potential professional communicative tasks in view of the fact that the teacher can prepare students to face real-life conversation in different situations.
