Abstract

The dynamics of the vocabulary of the English language is considered in the paper. In order to study this topic the following questions are revealed: the vocabulary of the language and its change in recent decades, the features of the development of the English language vocabulary. Also, the ways of development of modern English vocabulary are considered, namely, word formation as the main source of replenishment of modern English vocabulary, borrowing as a means of vocabulary development, semantic development of modern English vocabulary.
