GENDER-DETERMINED PECULIARITIES OF HYPERBOLE AND LITOTES ILLUSTRATED BY COMMUNICATIVE TACTICS OF THE CHARACTERS OF «HARRY POTTER» SERIES

This article deals with gender-determined peculiarities of the use of hyperbole and litotes illustrated by communicative tactics examples employed by the characters of “Harry Potter” series. The topicality of this research is conditioned by a rather fragmentary study of gender aspect of language and speech in lingvostylistics. Linguistic gender is the determining factor which influences the creation and modification of communicative tactics typical of men and women. The peculiar characteristics of hyperbole and litotes proved to be the most illustrative for the description of male and female communicative style.
