Т. LUBENETS’ HUMANISTIC APPROACH IN THE CONTEXT OF MODERN UKRAINIAN EDUCATION

Abstract

The article argues the relevance of Lubenets' pedagogical heritage in the context of the modern national education. Eminent teacher's progressive humanist ideas were disclosed, such as views on the importance of childhood, particularly early childhood in the development of the individual and the availability of children’s free play activity as a means of child upbringing, education and overall development. Lubenets’ views on the personality-developing directions of education and an educator’s basic behavior principle are discussed in this article. The consonance of Lubenets theory and practice with modern psycho-pedagogical principles of education is emphasized. Some tips of the teacher for parents and educators are presented, which are based on humane methods of training and education. Attention is paid to the problem of violence and punishments that are extremely relevant today; the subject of successful pedagogical promote socialization, the creation of conditions to meet the needs of a child in self-development, self-determination of needs in social and cultural space as a searching his place in the world of social relations. The main points of pedagogical work for providing of continuity between the pre-school education and primary education are marked. Lubenets’ requirements to the methods of the younger generation education and to the teacher's personality are elucidated. The author believes that the need for researching Lubenets' pedagogical heritage agreed by the necessity of developing the Ukrainian theory and practice of person-oriented pedagogy, interest in his pedagogical and methodical work, scientific, theoretical and practical problems of preschool education and primary education, which modernity brings.
